For Women, Alcohol And Sleep Don’t Mix Well

A group of researchers, including Damaris Rohsenow, professor of community health and associate director of the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies, find that women’s sleep is more easily disrupted by alcohol than men’s. Female study participants with a blood-alcohol level of .11 reported feeling more tired before they went to bed and woke up more often throughout the night than men with the same amount of alcohol in their systems.
