A recent study conducted by Zhanlian Feng, Assistant Professor of Community Health, and Vincent Mor, Professor of Medical Science, found that despite cultural traditions that center on family, home-based care of the eldery, the number of nursing homes in China has been increasing at a surprising rate. Because of this rapid growth, it has been a challenge for the Chinese government to keep up with overseeing and funding these institutions.
