The Global Day of Jewish Learning: The Unity of the Jewish People and Shema
Sunday, November 13 from 1:30 to 6:00pm
There are multiple learning sessions available- come for one or stay for all!
This event is open to adults & teens, students and community members!
There will be a door prize/raffle of an Amazon Fire, out on November 15th. All participants will receive a chance to win and will be able to gain more chances by purchasing tickets or by attending more classes at the event.
In addition, there will be a Student Only Sunday Brunch from 12:00 – 1:15.

Rabbi Barry Dolinger of Congregation Beth Sholom
Rabbi Joel Seltzer of Temple Emanu- El
Dina Adelsky of JCDSRI
Lex Rofes & Chelsea Feuchs, Brown University Students
Lea Prawer, Associate Director at the Israeli Institute for Advanced Studies, will discuss how Jewish martyrs have used the Shema through the ages, including during the Holocaust. A short film about that topic, “May Your Memory Be Loved,” will be followed by a discussion.
Zoya Shvartzman, Director of Strategic Partnerships for the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Europe, will discuss the renaissance of Jewish learning and identity in Poland.
Rabbi Mordechai Rackover will guide the plenaries with an eye to opening questions and closing reflections.
