Phishing Alert: Important Document email

Fish on a plateISG has received numerous reports of an email with the subject line “Important Document” requesting that you click to view a shared Google doc. This is a phishing attempt. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK.

This email is of particular concern since it’s sent from a Brown email address and may appear to be legitimate. Instead, it is the result of a compromised account and demonstrates the need for a strong password to protect yourself and others.

If you received this email and clicked on the link, ISG recommends that you change your Brown email account password now on myAccount, (this can also be done within Google). ISG also recommends taking the added precaution of running a scan on your computer or device. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the Help Desk at 863-4357 or help@brown.edu (http://www.brown.edu/cis/helpdesk).
