Update – 10AM. We are completing work at this time. Some services may see instability until approximately 10:30AM, but items will be returning to normal shortly. We do not expect any disruptions through the remainder of the day.

On Sunday morning, CIS will be migrating most of our networks in the primary CIS datacenter to a new firewall. This new firewall will provide additional capacity and security for the Brown community. During the timeframe of 5AM to 10AM, and especially between 5AM and 7AM, many core CIS services may be unstable as work is performed.
Due to the nature of the change, we anticipate that there will be times that services will be unavailable from VPN or from the Brown campus while the firewall is reconfigured.
We have performed extensive planning to ensure that apps will work from all locations, but due to the nature of the work, it is possible that for a period of time, some services may work from on-campus but not from off-campus locations. A detailed validation plan has been prepared, and many CIS staff will be working on Sunday morning to confirm service restoration after the cutover.
If you experience problems accessing applications and services after noon Sunday, please call the CIS Help Desk at 863-4357. During non-business hours, press Option 0 to report a critical service outage.
