Metalib – Infogate

Lori exported the SFX journal list to MetaLib so the “Find E-Journal” function is now populated. The link on the e-journal title opens an SFX window instead of linking directly to the journal title. The documentation seems to indicate that it should work differently but other sites I’ve looked at (UofMD, Royal Holloway) work the same way. (See page 20 of User Guide).

AHA! Lori and I got it to work. There was an additional problem in that the “getFullTxt” service wasn’t showing up on either SFX menu.
That was solved by changing

sfx:e_journal ejournal.config
to
sfx:e_collection e_collection.config_
in the source.dir file at:
exlibris/sfx_ver/sfx_version_2/sfx_local/config/source

We got the “DirectLink” function to work by changing the redirect option from “0″ to “1″ in the sfxmenu.config file. Only the link from the journal title in MetaLib is affected by this; if we wanted an sfx link to go directly to a journal in the presence of a single full-text source we would have to change the display logic rules to exclude the links that appear on ALL sfx menus (josiah, other local catalogs, sfx faq).
