The Hutto Detention Center hunger strike broke out in October of 2015 with twenty-seven women participating. The number of women participating eventually increased to almost 100. This is Patricia’s letter in which she describes the psychological, emotional and physical effects of detention, and calls for the public to recognize and take action on the human right abuses at Hutto.
