“Our great fear is that they will deport us without giving us any notice and without us having any communication with our families or lawyer.” – excerpt from letter from Maria Estela Marquez
Artist: Rose Jaffe
Inspired by a letter from a mother detained in Karnes County Prison with her three children, Jaffe represents the immigrant family journey from violence and suffering in their home country, to hope for the future – before the reality of fear and detention in the US. This is from a collaborative project between artists and detained migrants.
