In 2002, local police in Baytown, Texas, beat and killed Luis Alfonso Torres, a Mexican contract worker and legal resident. In response, the American Civil Liberties Union partnered with the League of United Latin American Citizens to release a series of posters that connect police violence in Black and Latino communities. This poster displays a video capture of Torres’ death and asks, “How do you say Rodney King in Spanish?”[1]
