STUDENT ACTIVISM

Black students have been at the forefront of pressing the University’s social and political consciousness. From the first major demonstration in 1968 of Black women from Pembroke, and Black men from Brown, the spirit of protest continues to be voiced by all students at Brown and acknowledges the University as a unique space of transformation and evolution.
