This is The Interactive Dissertation¬†newsletter, part of a multi-platform outreach project. I’m Jen, a PhD Candidate at the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University. My dissertation is a study of ancient Egyptian royal “living-rock” stelae with an emphasis on landscape, materiality, and spatial language.

My research is supported by a Mellon Mediterranean Regional Research Fellowship from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers, a U.S. Dept. of State ECA Fellowship through the American Research Center in Egypt, and a SPARC Fieldwork Award from the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies.
