Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. The Office of Student Support Services has detailed information on our website about medical leaves. There you can find the guidelines for clearance to return, which we hope reflect our commitment to a transparent and compassionate process for students. This blog, however, contains FAQs, testimonials and advice beyond the process described on our website.
Are you considering taking a medical leave of absence? Are you currently on one? If so, the Medical Leaves of Absence Demystified blog was made for you. We at Brown Student Support Services have worked closely with students to compile resources which will help you navigate your medical leave at all stages of the process. We understand that declaring a medical leave can be stressful, and we want it to be as smooth as possible for you. We hope this blog will 1.) make the experience a bit more manageable, 2.) help you feel connected with Brown while you are away, and 3.) clarify the procedure for declaring and returning from a medical leave. Going forward, we would appreciate feedback and suggestions on how to improve this blog – at the end of the day this blog is for you, and we want to make it as useful as possible! Please subscribe to this blog by entering your email using the widget on the upper right side of this page. Also, if you would like to submit your own testimonial please email Dean Fernández at email@example.com.
