Zakaria Paints Optimistic Scenario at Baccalaureate

Fareed Zakaria today gave Brown University’s 2009 Baccalaureate Address, “Living a Global Life,” in the Meeting House of the First Baptist Church.
Despite global financial and security concerns, “I’m not at all pessimistic,” he told the graduating students. Among his reasons for optimism, Zakaria pointed to the millions of people who have risen out of poverty around the world in recent years – becoming productive members of society capable of creating new solutions to local and global problems.
Zakaria is an influential writer, commentator, CNN host, and editor of Newsweek International.
